I'm Kay, the midwife who was priviledged to be caring for Katherine when she gave birth that day. And my reflections echo yours in so many ways. So thank you for reminding me all about it!!kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04495547625915236303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7561456140593868124.post-34378639196465661292010-08-09T05:39:34.723-07:002010-08-09T05:39:34.723-07:00My first baby came at 34 weeks so i obviously need...My first baby came at 34 weeks so i obviously needed to be in hospital for him, but i'm 11+4 weeks now and am planning a home water birth and cannot wait!! Never having laboured before, I was very anxious and had little faith in my body. After having Mia at home, I felt a million dollars...I still do! Being somewhere where I felt safe, comfortable, and relaxed made all the difference in the world. I so wish more mums knew this could be possible.Lisa Durbinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02061019214632649564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7561456140593868124.post-78391206274780654172009-02-05T11:47:00.000-08:002009-02-05T11:47:00.000-08:00How true Berny! I would just like to say anybody who is considering a homebirth DO IT, it was the most amazing feeling I subsequently went on to have another homebirth the year after with my 4th and final child Abraham. My experience with childbirth with my 2 daughters Niamh and Isabelle was terrible modern medicine determined that i would be poked and prodded at every opportunity and was given no control over any decisions regarding the birth, the differences between the births were amazing. In a nutshell homebirth is more relaxed and less invasive and how it should be done.naomi1507https://www.blogger.com/profile/07145174461036150202noreply@blogger.com
